We assist employers to avoid disputes by preparing proper employment contracts, staff handbooks, disciplinary, capability and grievance procedures – each tailored to the specific needs of the business. We also offer a telephone and email service where employers need quick advice on employment rights and procedure.
These are all matters which our Employment Department may be able to help you with. The Department is led by Bill Parry-Davies. Bill has conducted several high value employment disputes concerning victimisation and discrimination. Patrick Spence also specialises in employment law. The firm also has considerable experience in bringing claims in the Employment Tribunal.
What will it cost?
If you are an employer, we will give you an estimate of costs at the commencement of any new work and provide regular updates. In some circumstances we may be able to offer a fixed fee for an item of work.
If you are an employee, we can give you initial advice and assistance about the merits of your case for a fixed fee before you decide to pursue the matter further. We may be able to provide you with representation at the tribunal under a “No Win – No Fee” agreement, or a private funding agreement or using legal expenses insurance.
If you are not entitled to Public Funding, we will discuss with you other ways of funding your case, including a no win, no fee agreement, using legal expenses insurance or a private finding arrangement. For more details on funding see our funding arrangements page.
