Joanna joined the firm in 2019 as a Trainee Solicitor and is currently sitting with the civil litigation team. She undertakes a mixture of housing and personal injury work and will later move on to complete seats in the family department and wills & probate team. Joanna has particular experience with homelessness, possession cases, and housing disrepair.
Before joining Dowse, Joanna volunteered for an NGO in India that provides housing, education, and support to street children, and another NGO in Peru that helps young people in rural communities access education and supports female victims of abuse. She also volunteered with the Citizens Advice Bureau in Cambridge and worked as a paralegal at a criminal firm. Joanna is a qualified Legal Observer and is able to attend demonstrations in order to advise protestors on their rights
Joanna completed her undergraduate degree in English and French at the University of Warwick, during which she spent a year living and teaching English in France. She then went on to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law and the Legal Practice Course at BPP, obtaining distinctions in both courses.
