Parveen joined Dowse in June 2022. She specialises in social housing law, in particular defending possession proceedings involving invalid notices, disputes over subletting, and disputes over the rights of succeeding to a tenancy.
Parveen works passionately in bringing a counterclaim for disrepair within possession proceedings and ensuring that the outcome is favourable for her client. She works tirelessly to ensure that her client obtains compensation for the disrepair that they have suffered resulting in the rent arrears being cleared and the possession proceedings being dismissed.
She also has a keen interest in the following types of cases:
- Assisting vulnerable people to secure accommodation under the homelessness route and ensuring the accommodation provided to homeless applicants is suitable
- Challenging the local authorities’ decisions when they have classed homeless applicants as not in priority need or intentionally homeless
- Bringing claims for disrepair in social and private housing
- Assisting tenants in suspending Warrants for Eviction
- Defending Injunction proceedings brought against tenants by social landlords on the basis of anti-social behaviour.
