Shamila joined Dowse & Co in 2018 and is an experienced solicitor specialising in all areas of family law, including private children matters, domestic abuse, and financial disputes. She is Resolution Accredited in Private Children Law and Domestic Abuse, recognising her expertise and dedication to helping clients navigate sensitive and complex family issues with care and professionalism.
Before focusing on family law, Shamila gained valuable experience across a range of legal disciplines, including housing, mental health, and personal injury. She has represented both legally aided and privately funded clients, advocating for some of the most vulnerable individuals in society. This breadth of experience has given her a well-rounded understanding of the challenges clients face and a compassionate, pragmatic approach to resolving them.
Shamila holds both an LLB and LLM and has continually invested in her personal and professional development throughout her career. She is known for being personable, down to earth, and approachable — qualities that clients appreciate when dealing with emotionally charged and complex matters.
Outside of work, Shamila enjoys attending live music events and concerts, is a keen cook, and proudly describes herself as something of a new-age foodie.
